Just who the hell is Millard Fillmore? No one knows, but please just don’t search “Fugitive Slave Act.” It’s like Shakespeare said, some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others are Millard Fillmore. What is in a name? A President by any other name would be Washington. How long does recognition stand before time knocks it down? Are any of us really ever immortal, or are we just vague outlines drawn by a festive sparkler in the hand of a child slipping into darkness like a lost coin in a ripped pocket?
