five poems

by Rebecca Warlick

Nanny berry

Your head smells like cheese

Your smile is crooked

Your room is purple

Your eyes are slate gray

Your race is Caucasian

Your middle name is a fruit and a song by Lana del Rey

Your first song was ramparts by John Frusciante

You love the hair dryer

You hate getting a bath

You drink too fast and hiccup constantly

Your head was too big so we got you an ultrasound that cost 900 dollars

your brain is unremarkable

Creative headache

My baby turned into

a pile of mismatched socks

I'm releasing Lemonade soon

2 good 4 this 1 day

The next time you see me

it’ll be in a magazine

The next time we don’t talk

it will be me on the PA

telling you specifically

to step away from the doors

Available tonight

Hi, she looks stunning

like a pretty little dentist

Ol Clementine, wearing

Birkenstocks size nine

Delivering this Oregonite

Daddy is ready

to quack like a duck

Oink like a pig

Gnaw on this rabbit bone probably

crawling with pin worms

I’d love to go two on one with her

and dominate her

with my extremely dominant styles

I'm into it!

We love a clean-up boy

to verbally abuse and spit on

My father was a sexual being too

He saw through the ritual

masturbatory performance

of claustrophobia

Her body is a birds nest

covered in mud and lymph

Allows the human body

any body

to be a vertical body

of water nymph

Now let’s practice

Let’s go Mets!

Let’s go meet

the long haired musician

for some passionate distraction…

Is this pose considered sexy?

Your wife’s feet look so incredibly beautiful

like the rest of her

Legs splayed half-couch

One hundred and twenty degree angle

Dress over face

Why do we want her to disappear?

All she ever wanted was to feel

more important than all the rest

No one knows what is in her basement

Weak people insist

we do incredible violence

JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa I’m doing it

I’m escaping complex trauma

I’m planting a rose garden

I’m hitting mom with a shovel

Ding ding ding ding ding

Lying is easy

Take all my critters

Tap the roof of the car

and live another day

Die another day too…

Idiot euphemism

Hidden agenda

Manipulate my abuse disorder

My sorry existence

I’m just milk to you

Your bloodless shadow

Your secret basement

We are cereal and soup

Triangulate us!

We are pigs rolling in the mud

My DNA is divergent

My poems are evil

My tits are bigger so

I always win

Electric dog arc

executes pupperinos…

ConEd you must pay!

Tom Cruise brought the world

another sunrise

another sunset

Under the full moon

looking for mushrooms

Nothing I say is real

I made it all up

That’s a true story
