three poems

by Scott C. Holstad

moonlight

the grass outside is

the color of gray

suicide and the

dew looks like

it was spermed

from the sky.

inside is blank. an

empty innocence.

her dreams are a

steely rumble in

her mind.

she thinks of

flowers. she

spreads her legs

and touches

herself. her

fingers are drills.

she hurts herself

momentarily

and she forgets.

flowers don’t

go to sleep,

they die.
