five poems

by Emily K. Sipiora

Daughter Wields Boxcutter

My body is a temple except

for that one time

I am rotating in the hot

deli case at the gas station

Searing all good

overcooked

I’m Tonya Harding

if she won

How do you want it

each day on your calendar

miss you like a limb

Loop

No time to linger

tourist season

in my heart

hands slip

ORD

Warrior 1

Got out of yoga

and I’m still here

with myself

the rest of

my time

Propofol

Call me romantic

but when they

put me down it

felt like how

you care
