Jessica Heron

Poetry Editor

Jessica Heron comes to you from The Jersey Shore by way of Staten Island, from a background of mixed religion, class, ethnicity, and language, and through the interpretative lens of chronic illness, dis/ability, and neurodivergence. All this to say: your secrets are safe with her. Until she publishes them.

First and foremost a poet, Jessica’s creative work has been published with Hot Pink Mag, Black Petals, Collide Zine, The Daily Drunk, Tiny Spoon, Let’s Stab Caesar!, BRUISER, Angel Rust, Coin-Operated Press, Horror Sleaze Trash, Fevers of the Mind, Loud Coffee Press, The Horror Zine, Corporeal Lit, sage cigarettes magazine, Inklette Magazine, Anti-Heroin Chic, Hole In the Head Review, pitymilk press, OyeDrum, Olney Magazine, LOUDER, and so on.

Jess has read poetry, fiction, and/or CNF for The Champagne Room Journal, Catatonic Daughters, Nimrod, Hippocampus Magazine and currently reads poetry and fiction for Okay Donkey Magazine. She is a Mistress of TESOL (The New School), a Mistress of Fine Arts — Creative Writing (Cedar Crest College) and a retreat scholar with Chestnut Review (Riga 2025). Her longtime interest is the intersection of linguistics and poetry, meanwhile her current project explores genre/speculative/pulp fiction as a preferred alternative to memoir for dis/abled storytelling, with inquiries into truth, perception, and credibility.
