Artist’s Statement:
For my 1st-3rd submission to the same magazine, if there is no theme call, I use the magazine name as my prompt: blood. I am a man with a goatee who shaves +-3 times a week, with 1 of those shaves creating small skin cuts that flow blood down toward or onto my neck. Before my blood series, I believed that blood flowed uncontained under my skin: wrong! Blood flows through the body in containers (arteries, veins).
My five images:
· My presentation of human blood circulation and blood buddies copies the presentation style of Andy Warhol who created color variations of one image four or more times. Then, in the presentation (framing) each individual image is shown separately and four variations are paired together to be shown.
· The chest cavity images are colored with American patriotic colors (red, white, and blue) and edited with a voxelart filter that convert images to look like Lego.
· green blood bag is edited with the filter colormix parakeet that converted the red to green. Since I am fond of the tv series Star Trek with the character Spock, who has green blood, I sent my green blood to him.
